The Gordon Highlanders:

The Gordon Highlanders was formed as part of the Childer's Reform amalgamations in 1881. They first served through various Victorian campaigns as the shock troops of the British Empire, seeing action from Egypt to South Africa. At the out break of the Great War, they were among the first British troops sent to the Western Front, suffering massive losses among it's battalions in France, Italy and Belgium. In the Second World War, they would again be the "first-in" shock troops of the British Army, fighting from the first battles in France in 1939 and Singapore in 1942, until the defeat of the Gothic Line and capture of Rangoon in 1945. They continued their service as Britain's front line Highlanders through Malaya, Cyprus and Northern Ireland until the regiment was disbanded in 1994 as part of the overall Cold War drawdown.

The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders:

The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders dates back to the 79th Regiment of Foot (Cameronian Volunteers), raised for service during the tense period of the French Revolutionary Wars in 1793. The young regiment would distinguish itself in the following years against Napoleonic France in Egypt, India and Denmark. Despite Irish origins, it was designated as the "Cameron Highlanders" in 1804, continuing service through the Peninsula War, the War of the Sixth Coalition and finally at the climactic Battle of Waterloo. It was there the regiment would earn infamy, being one of only four specific regiments mentioned by the Duke of Wellington in his battle dispatches. Continuing to serve through the Victoria era through all major battles of the Crimean War, and being immediately re-deployed for the Indian Mutiny, the unit would remain on a high operational tempo. The Childers Reforms of 1881 reformed the regiment as the "Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders" the title that would serve them through the rest of their existence. Fighting through the Anglo-Egyptian War, Boer War, The Great War and Second World War, and various post-war conflicts the regiment served around the world with little pause. The Cameron's were ultimately amalgamated with the Seaforth Highlanders in 1961 after the 1957 Defence Reviews, ending their centuries long existence.

The Seaforth Highlanders:

The Seaforth Highlanders was formed as part of the Childer's Reform amalgamations in 1881. They first served through various Victorian campaigns as the shock troops of the British Empire, fighting in Egypt, Sudan, Afghanistan and South Africa. The regiment would immediately be among the first British troops on the all fronts of the Great War, from the Western Front to the Salonika Front and the Mesopotamia campaign. During the Second World War, the 2nd Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders was unable to evacuate at Dunkirk and entirely captured, leading it to have to be completely reformed for the North Africa and Sicily Campaign. Most of the regiment's battalions would continue to fight through the invasion of Normandy, and push all the way to Germany by the end of the war. The 1st Battalion by contrast served with the 23rd Indian Division in Burma for the bulk of the war against the Imperial Japanese Army. The Seaforth's were ultimately amalgamated with the Queen's Own Highlanders in 1961 after the 1957 Defence Reviews to form the short lived Queen's Own Highlanders. The prints themselves feature the uniform accoutrements of each respective regiment at outbreak of the Great War, including their distinctive tartan, headdress, spats/hose tops, sporran, collar dogs and cap badges.
